In Performing Arts with Ms Alice ...
Foundation 2 - Children explored puppets and a range of instruments, experimenting with loud and quiet sounds. They developed their listening and responding skills by following simple musical cues and changes in volume. Children expressed ideas creatively through movement, sound and puppetry.

Year 1 - Children explored movement and dance through a magical animal-themed box, using their imagination to become different animals. They developed their listening, coordination and creative movement skills by responding to music and using scarves to create different motions and shapes. Children experimented with different ways of moving and expressing themselves through dance.

Year 3 - Children learned and performed a dance to Friend Like Me, developing their ability to follow choreography and remember a sequence of movements. They developed their coordination, rhythm, listening and teamwork skills while performing with confidence and energy.

Year 5 - Children explored costume design by considering the practical use of different materials and fabrics. They investigated how fabrics move, drape and respond to movement, making creative design choices that were both practical and suitable for performance.

Year 6 - Children used four individual dance movements to create their own choreography, developing their creativity, sequencing and teamwork skills. They worked collaboratively to rehearse and perform their dances, giving and receiving constructive and positive feedback to support their learning.

In PE with Mr Angel ...
Students are working on the seven fundamental movement skills:
1) Walk – Jog – Run; 2) Jump; 3) Hop; 4) Slide; 5) Skip; 6) Gallop; 7) Crossover
Also, they are also developing fundamental object-control skills such as throwing and catching.
These movements and skills are important because they help children develop balance, coordination, agility, spatial awareness, strength and confidence. They also provide the foundation for more advanced physical activities and sports, while encouraging children to be active and work effectively with others.

House Event
This afternoon all students took part in a fun event which launched our House system for academic year 2026/27. Students worked in House Teams to create Mascots, Chants and Flags for their Houses. This was a great opportunity for students to work with others from different year groups and foster a real fun competitive House Spirit!

Y7 Settling in Coffee Morning
It was lovely to welcome our Y7 parents to a coffee morning today. Mr. Ian (Assistant Head of Secondary) and Ms. Phuong Anh (Head of Year) shared updates on how the students have been settling in and answered parents' questions.

Upcoming Event – Art Auction
On Saturday 19th September we will have our first student led event of the year. The event is being organised by the Chamellia Group. They are looking to raise money to support children who live in remote regions to have opportunities to learn English. The Auction will take place in the PAC Auditorium from 2 – 4pm. Parents, Students and Staff are all warmly invited to attend.

Staying Happy and Healthy
This week all student in KS3 and 4 had an assembly about the importance of a calm and positive environment in school which will be leading into their PSHE topic of 'Staying Happy and Healthy' which they will study for the next three weeks.
