Dear Families
Thank you to all those that attended my Year 9 and Year 11 pre options information sessions this week. I hope you found these useful.

Next week I shall be launching a new initiative at BVIS called 'Friends of BVIS', keep an eye out for further information in your inbox next week.

This week we started our ECA program across the school and it is great to see so many opportunities for the students.

🌟 Our Learning Goes Home!
In EYFS, our class pets are travelling home! Children are building confidence by sharing their special class pet with their families and returning ready to tell their friends all about the experience. Our WOW slips are also celebrating the wonderful learning happening at home.

📚 Growing a Love of Reading
In Year 1, children are discovering the joy of books through daily stories, independent choices and shared reading. They are building confidence, imagination and a lifelong love of reading.

🌍 Wonders of the World
In Year 2, children have been exploring the 7 Wonders of the World and famous destinations across Vietnam, including Hanoi, Hue, Da Lat and Saigon. Using maps, they are developing their geographical knowledge and understanding of places near and far.

🌳 Exploring the Rainforests
In Year 3, children have been mapping the world’s rainforests and exploring what makes these environments so remarkable. Their learning is developing geographical skills and a deeper understanding of our planet.

🎭 Bringing Stories to Life
In Year 4, students are using drama and role play to deepen their understanding of Vietnamese and English model texts. By acting, discussing and collaborating, they are strengthening their vocabulary, comprehension and ability to recall key events and ideas.

🎤 Speak, Perform, Feedback!
In Year 5, students are developing their English communication skills through role play and drama. They are building confidence in speaking and listening while practising how to give and respond to constructive feedback.

🎨 Creativity Under the Nón Lá
In Year 6, students explored the traditional Vietnamese craft of making nón lá, learning about the process behind this iconic cultural art form. They then used their creativity and imagination to design and decorate their own unique hats.

Upcoming University Visits
Our UGC Team works closely with universities from around the world and arrange opportunities for them to visit BVIS and speak directly to our students. Below are the visits planned for September. Parents are warmly invited to attend!

Y7 Mathematics Skills lessons
Our Year 7 students have been researching the lives and achievements of famous mathematicians, discovering how their ideas have shaped the world of mathematics. They are now showcasing their findings through creative research posters, developing their research, communication and mathematical literacy skills along the way.

IGCSE Business
The Y10 IGCSE Business class presented a group project on business plans. Each group had to present their initial business idea and explain how they would go about it, using a business plan.

Tanzania Trip 2027
Today, our Y9, 10, 12 and 13 students had an assembly to inform them about the Expedition to Tanzania which will take place in March 2027. Parents are warmly invited to attend an information session at 4.30pm on 17th September to find out more about this exciting opportunity.
