Student Highlights & Success Stories (28/09 - 02/10/2026)

Dear Families
Over the last two days we were delighted to host the NAE Vietnam schools Primary student leadership conference. A great opportunity for some of our youngest and brightest students to meet and collaborate.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of joining the global NAE SLT conference in Switzerland, attended by over 90 Principals from across the world. We spent a few days sharing good practice and discussing many great ideas that we can implement in our schools for the benefit of our communities.
Next week our Year 12 students will be heading to Dalat for their annual residential trip. I am certain they will have a great time.

A reminder that school finishes at 3.05pm on Friday 9th October for the half term break. School reopens for students on Monday 19th October.
I wish you all a very relaxing weekend ahead.

Kindness in Action
This week, we have focused on kindness and friendship. Children have been noticing, celebrating and thanking others for kind actions, with adults modelling positive relationships throughout the week. This supports a key area of EYFS development: building positive relationships with adults and peers.

Celebrating the Moon Festival
Year 1 celebrated the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival through mask decorating and lantern making. Children developed their creativity, shared ideas and enjoyed learning and celebrating together with their families.

Moon Festival Makers
Year 2 embraced the Mid-Autumn Festival by making mooncakes, paper persimmon branches and lanterns with their parents. Working in their Hanoi, Hue, Da Lat and Saigon teams, they also created beautiful festival tables, developing creativity, collaboration and cultural understanding.

Celebrating Together
Year 3 welcomed parents into the classroom for a hands-on Moon Festival celebration. Children made colourful lanterns and decorated cookies, developing creativity and collaboration while sharing a special cultural experience with their families.

Culture, Creativity & Community
Year 4 explored the traditions and meaning of the Moon Festival through stories, lantern making and mooncake making. They also welcomed parents to create traditional Vietnamese Tò He, combining cultural learning, creativity and family connection.

Vietnamese Traditions in Action
Year 5 discovered Vietnamese folk traditions by creating grasshoppers from coconut leaves. The activity developed creativity, collaboration and cultural understanding, while providing a memorable opportunity to learn alongside friends and families.

Bringing Ocean Life to Life
Year 6 has been exploring ocean biodiversity through clay sea-creature sculptures. Students have developed their sculpting techniques and completed the construction stage of their designs. Next, they will bring their creations to life through painting.

A busy fortnight for the DRAGONS!
16 games in two weeks—our Dragons are in full swing! To make up for weather cancellations, our teams are pulling double duty on the court, demonstrating incredible resilience and teamwork.

From Varsity (KS5) and JV (KS4) Volleyball to Middle School (KS3) Basketball, our student-athletes aren't just playing; they’re continuously learning, reflecting, and refining their skills. Wins feel fantastic, but the ultimate goal is growth. Win or lose, every game gives our students an opportunity to get better, stronger, and closer as a team.

Win together, lose together, and stay together! Go Dragons!

PE Validated Self Evaluation
This week, the Leadership Team has been visiting lots of PE Lessons and Matches as part of our Validated Self Evaluation programme. This allows us to look at the student experience, identify important strengths, and any potential next steps to improve. A key part of this process is student involvement. Many students participated in focus groups and Le Phung Bao Anh (Lucy), Pham Khoi Nguyen and Chu Hoang Ha Anh were our lead students who observed lessons and provided valuable insights and feedback.

Fabulous Poetry
Nguyen Viet Khoi in Year 7B has written this wonderful piece of poetry. It is emotive, thoughtful, and mature.

Junior Events Committee
A huge shoutout to our fantastic Junior Events Committee students Dinh Khoi Nguyen (12V), Ngoc Linh Anh Nguyen (7B), Quang Tri Viet Nguyen (7I), Le Quoc Trung Hoang (11B), Ba Lam Trinh (11B) who volunteered to support the Year 12 Parent Teacher Conference!

The students did an exceptional job throughout the evening and were wonderful representatives of our school community. They warmly welcomed parents and carers, helped guide them to the correct teachers and took the initiative to collect feedback about their experience of the evening. This feedback will now be used to help us make our future Parent Teacher Conferences even better.
We were incredibly proud of how friendly, confident and professional they were throughout the evening. They approached every task with enthusiasm and maturity, and it was wonderful to see them taking such ownership and responsibility.
