Let it snow: Champittet boarders and day students enjoy skiing and tobogganing in the fresh Alpine air

Let it snow - Let it snow

The winter holidays may seem far behind us, but here at Collège Champittet, the winter fun is still going strong with outdoor adventures for all! This is the perfect time of year for heading up into the mountains and enjoying the snow, whether sledging, tobogganing or skiing.

Our winter outings give children a chance to explore different natural areas around Switzerland and the Alps, while also getting some healthy exercise and renewed energy for their studies. In February, our 1st graders visited the beautiful area of Frience to go tobogganing, while our 2nd and 3rd graders enjoyed tobogganing and the spectacular views in Leysin. Each outing was a day of thrills and laughter, accompanied by perfect weather in the mountains.

Meanwhile, every Wednesday afternoon, students in our extracurricular programme have been honing their skiing skills at Portes du Soleil, on the Swiss-French border. Our young skiers have been making excellent progress, while also having fun in the sun and snow each week!

Finally, our boarding students recently returned from an incredible week in Zermatt. They spent their February break hitting the slopes at this world-renowned mountain resort, sharpening their skiing technique while admiring the breathtaking landscape. This weeklong skiing trip gave our boarders the perfect escape from school life, leaving them recharged for the return to their daily routine.

Plus, winter isn’t over yet! In March, our students in Grades 7 to 12 and FLE 9 to 11 will be heading to Fiesch for their annual ski camp. Having so many winter wonderlands right at our doorstep is just one of the many great things about studying in Switzerland. We are all looking forward to a few more magical days in the snow!
