DCIS PSI HAZE SAFETY POLICY

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As you may all be aware, the seasonal haze has descended on Singapore in recent days. We are monitoring the official data very closely, and have already taken steps to reduce students’ exposure to PSI through modifications to outdoor activities.

On the basis of present PSI readings (3-hour PSI of 242 as of 10pm on 14th September), we expect school to be operating tomorrow, although it is very likely that we will need to curtail outside activities.

Set out below is a summary of the DCIS PSI Haze Safety Policy, in tabular form. The School will be guided by the recommendations and decisions of the Singaporean authorities in deciding whether to effect a temporary closure. In the event of School closure, every effort will be made to contact all parents/guardians by e-mail (where they have subscribed to school communications at news.dovercourt.edu.sg), and through notices on the School’s website and posts on the School’s Facebook page. If we cannot reach you or your emergency contact, we will look after your child until you arrive. Please ensure that you are able to pick up your child in the event of School closure due to severe haze.
