Catriona graduated from the University of Loughborough with a first-class degree in Geography before qualifying as a teacher. Following graduation, Catriona worked at a school in the UK for three years before moving to Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, she held the position of Head of Maths at an international school. During her time there, she initiated a Hong Kong-wide maths competition involving over 100 students. After returning to the UK due to COVID-19, she spent time with family before taking on the role of Head of Phase at a private school in Essex.
Catriona has experience teaching across all year groups and is very much looking forward to meeting the children at Dover Court! Catriona is passionate about both teaching and learning. She enjoys fostering young people's understanding of the world's diversity. Her teaching style focuses on inspiring and challenging students, ensuring that every child experience success.
Catriona has a proven track record in leading sports teams and clubs across both key stages. In her previous role as Head of PE at a UK state school, she led several sports teams to county-level achievements. At her current school, she established an eco-committee, empowering students to take ownership in developing a school garden. The produce is sold locally and even supplies the school kitchen!
Catriona enjoys travelling and exploring new destinations. Outside of the classroom, she maintains an active lifestyle, whether it's bouldering, running, or hiking. She also enjoys singing and dancing, although she readily admits these aren't necessarily her greatest talents!
