IB MIDDLE YEARS PROGRAMME

Our International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) unlocks our students’ potential as they explore global issues, apply learning to real-world situations, and immerse themselves in an in-depth Personal Project. The perfect preparation for High School, the MYP develops core subject knowledge and a breadth of skills over the course of five years.

OUR IB MIDDLE YEARS PROGRAMME

At Etqan Global Academy, our 11 to 15-year-olds follow the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).

The MYP provides a firm academic foundation, with specialist subjects delivered through cross-curricular themes, topics, and projects, taught through eight subject groups. These encourage students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, extending learning beyond the classroom.

The Arabic language and Islamic studies are woven throughout our MYP, alongside hands-on opportunities to develop core attitudes and life skills.

THE MYP PERSONAL PROJECT

In the final year of the MYP, our students commit to an in-depth Personal Project, which they work on over an extended period. This is an opportunity to explore an area or subject they’re passionate about, whilst developing a host of skills. The Personal Project is made up of a process, a product, and a reflective report, which is assessed and graded at the end of the year.

THE IB CONTINUUM AT ETQAN

From the age of 3 to 15, every student’s academic journey at Etqan is underpinned by the continuum of International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes. This provides consistency and guarantees the highest standards throughout your child’s education.

As well as being academically challenging, the IB continuum focuses on the all-round development of each student. Each programme, at every stage, is packed with character-forming experiences that develop core values, skills, and IB Learner Profile traits.
