Students from four schools competed in 11 a side football tournament on Saturday, 11th October. Danube International School Vienna DISV, Vienna International School VIS, and International Christian School Budapest ICSB.
Our first game saw us against DISV. The game started with BISB on the defence, we only really threatened the opposition goal on the break with Ben Cox, Josh Bradshaw and David Pham. Half time the game was goalless. Second half BISB had more of the ball and it made for an exciting end to end contest. On the break DIS skipped passed a few players and won a penalty. With only Jee-Soo able to prevent a goal for DIS, a foot save from Jee-Soo meant BISB secured a draw.
The second game against VIS started as the first, with us defending well and catching then on the break. We had the best chance to score when Ben Cox went through one on one and hit the post. At half time were goalless. The second half started with slowly and we were punished. VIS broke down the left and cut inside to score the opening goal. The game then got away from BISB and we ended up losing the game 3 nil. The bits worked extremely hard and were unlucky.
Our final game was against CISB and the boys were truly up for it after the disappointment of our last game. We started quickly and went one goal ahead through Sam Contos. However, just before half time we were pulled back with a breakaway goal. The boys didn't dwell on this and went ahead for the second time through Tom Keys. It was to happen again and we were not able to close out the game and the game ended 2-2.
Well done boys and keep up the hard work.
