Global Classroom in Primary November 2014

13 November 2014

Global Citizens are welcome!

The Great Debate

We are delighted to announce that 4 teams of students from Years Four, Five and Six have signed up to participate in the Global Classroom Primary School Debate League!

Students will work together to compete against teams from within the Nord Anglia family of schools.  The first debate topics are now live. The first motion that Primary children will debate is “Technology is ruining human relationships.”  We will be able to post our opening statement on the 17th November so the teams are at the point of researching their standpoint at the moment.

The first Global Classroom Primary Club met this week and we opened our first parcel, which Mr Farthing brought back from Tanzania.  We will be working together to design a badge which represents our school and it will become part of a larger story.  More will be revealed soon!

Student Leaders

We are happy to announce that we have three new student leaders for the Global Classroom in the Primary school.  They are Caitlin Phelan, Jinho Park and Jong Kyung Baek.  They will be leading the club projects and motivating their colleagues to participate in the Global Classroom.

Book Club

We have started reading ‘My Brother’s Keeper” in the GC Book Club.  This connects nicely with the remembrance section of the Global Classroom and our own remembrance activities.

In other news we have an exciting whole school project on Children’s Rights, which we hope to unveil soon!
