No energy day & sleep-over

17 March 2014

Do you ever get a chance to think about how energy dependent your life is? We depend on electricity, fossil fuels, timber, wind and sun so much that without these sources of energy we would not be able to stay alive.

  • no energy day

On Friday 21st March all secondary teachers and students will try to reduce electricity usage at school and study without PCs, projectors, lights and other electrical appliances.

The Secondary Eco-Committee members are inviting all secondary students to participate in the eco sleep-over from Friday 21st March until 22nd March. The theme of the evening is REPURPOSING - ways of saving energy. There are many activities planned, such as working in an outdoor classroom, painting a wall mural, quizzes and games, a quest speaker involved in the conservation of bats and an unplugged concert. Apart from this very exciting programme, one thing to really look forward to will definitely be sleeping on the floor in the gym :)
