Despite the scary weather forecasts for the last week 15 of our finest and bravest students have undertaken a 3 day Adventurous Journey in Mala Fatra national park to complete their Silver level expedition section.
In the lead up to the trip I was getting slightly concerned about the harsh weather conditions both the leaders, and more worrying our groups, would have to endure for the three days.
However, we couldn’t have had better groups of students to assess, even if I were to pick them ourselves! Each group has shown a great determination, courage, perseverance and team spirit over these tough days proving, their Silver level is well deserved. I truly admire our students for not giving up, tackling their fears, their discomfort, physical and mental tiredness. One group excelled with their blistering pace in rain, wind and fog on the ridge. The second group has shown a real character, where with mutual support even the weakest and slowest walker successfully completed the journey despite of doubts and worries. The thirds group has shown determination and was fighting with their physical weakness and sore ankles for the whole three days.
I was beyond impressed with how well everyone preformed, and I would have to say they put on textbook display of how the silver expedition should be completed.
