Last week, 6A and 6C were able to visit the Slovak National Gallery, as part of their themed project on oil - 'Black Gold'. Staff at the gallery guided children through the various ways in which oil has been used by artists through the ages. With instruction, the children's attention was brought to the different styles oil paint has allowed artists to achieve. Following their careful observations, the children then headed for the activity area, where they were encouraged to experiment with oil and water based paints. Allowing the children to express their emotions using a combination of both mediums produced some very interesting results!
