20 March 2015

15 young BISB musicians participated in the auditions for the Global orchestra project last Friday.

We were really impressed by the level of all 15 candidates, choosing very challenging repertoire and performing to a high standard.

It has been very hard for us to make our final decision as we can only choose 5 candidates to enter for the Global orchestra project.

Performers have been judged on different aspects, not only their high musical performance, but also their cooperation with other musicians in an ensemble and we had to consider the social aspect of the project as students will spend one week faraway from family and friends.

Here are the names of our 5 BISB finalists:

1/ Hoda Jahanpour, Y10, cello

2/ Jason Hwang, Y11, oboe, recorder, piano

3/ Jenny Choi, Y9, violin

4/ Amber Hoh, Y5, violin

5/ India King, Y8, drums

The Global Orchestra committee will choose three final candidates by 20th of April.

Thank you very much for supporting your children. I hope those children who are not going to participate this time will have a chance to be involved in one of the next North Anglia Education music projects.
