Throughout the academic year we create scenarios such as rescuing a friend in need of help, prolonged open water survival initiatives and spotting potential danger. One of our primary objectives is instilling a sense of water confidence and alertness which will prove invaluable throughout our students’ lives, which will lead to our students becoming competent and competitive swimmers.
During the second term of this academic year the more advanced swim group within year four have excelled themselves and beyond by learning and mastering a personal survival program which includes elements of a GCSE swim curriculum (see pictures) they have undergone shipwreck scenarios, plane crash simulations, support and rescue of an unconscious person and open water personal and group survival initiatives.
Ultimately our swim program at B.I.S.B will teach our students to enjoy all water environments and be happy, strong, confident swimmers.
Often students join our School with little or no water experience and therefore receive 1:1 coaching until they are ready to join another or similar ability group, this is always dictated by the student and they are the ones in control of this initial entry into our swim program.
The Team of swim instructors headed by Mr. Libor Jurkovic are also available for any private tuition you require for your children, whether for those first steps into the water or fine tuning specific areas of all the major swim disciplines.
The swim facility we use is located at Ilkovičova 3, 812 19 Bratislava (Parking is available and sign posted) and is open to students from years 1-4 and their parents to swim during school holidays Monday- Friday between 13:00 - 14:00.
