Little bit of autumn in the classroom

06 October 2016

Our youngest children bring a little bit of autumn into their classroom.

Though we were all very pleased with the lovely weather last week, according to the calendar autumn has the right to be knocking on the door!

Nursery A children have been collecting leaves, conkers, pine cones and twigs from our outdoor learning area. We brought them inside where we looked at them and talked about their colour and shape, and sang songs about autumn leaves. The children also had the opportunity to look at other changes that happen this time of the year such as animals building dens for winter, birds flying overseas and trees losing their leaves. Last but not least, we mixed colours and made beautiful leaf prints and we decorated our classroom with conker spiders!
