Children across the school have been working on the Global Challenge, to get a very complicated machine (called Rube Goldberg machines) to do something very simple.
The children were reflective risk-takers when trying to make their machines work. They learned to be resilient and persistant in order to change their designs and make them function.
Last Sunday saw the Sunday Big Build where children and teachers from all phases of the school came together to make the final Rube Goldberg machine. You can see their progress on Twitter at @BISB_Global
Follow us on the Global Campus site to see how we progress in the competition.
We are also celebrating the excellent work being done by our Primary Debating League. Under the guidence of Mrs Keys, the Best of Bratislave or BOB for short, are clinching victory after victory. We would like to share the reults below with you and also share some of the feedback that we have received from the judges:
“BOB I thought your opening was excellent, especially the use of a question to draw in the reader. Your Main Arguments section was also very strong, good use of research, and persuasive writing style… Thank you and congratulations!”
BOB are currently enjoying a strong position in the final round of the debate league. You can read the for and against arguments on the Global Campus website.
Finally, we want to say some big congratulations to our Creative Writing competition entrants. We have a total of four entries included in the runner up section, published on the Global Campus and one overall winner from Primary: Toby Marriott. We are very proud and want to say a huge well done to him and the other competitors. We are looking forward to the illustration competition next. Watch that space!
Remember to bring your passport to Mrs Keys or Miss Jardine if you have done any activities at home or in class which will earn you a stamp. Remember we are counting the stamps at the end of the year to make sure you get your reward certificates.
