Year 4 had a wonderful time at their adventure camp

23 June 2016

We had three action packed days in Liptovsky Jan.

On the first day, we split into teams and had to complete secret missions in order to find keys to unlock a treasure chest. The children learned how to work together, strategize and communicate with each other. We unlocked the treasure around the campfire and roasted marshmallows while singing some very catchy songs. Mr Carroll did a wonderful supermodel impression.

On the second day the children went rafting, showed some fantastic teamwork and probably had some tired arms at the end of the day. They then got to try some strange sports like team skiing, tightrope walking and frisbee golf. In the evening we were entertained by our resident D.J. Mr Carroll. There are some impressive dance moves from the children (and Mr Thomson!).

On the last day we explored the cave system in the region. There were no bats, but we found bones from a bear and a wolf. I have never seen year 4 as quiet as they were on the bus trip home. Most of them fell asleep and woke up as we came in to Bratislava. Both the adults and children had a wonderful time.

“Camp was my favourite thing in year four. It made my comfort zone grow bigger” Eunho.
