The children in the Reception class had been showing lots of interest in ice-cream, they even made ice-creams out of playdough and sand! So we decided to follow their interests and make real ice-cream in our class! We used a great recipe where you mix salt and ice in a bag, then put milk in another bag and shake like crazy.  It was a very funny thing to do and the children's arm muscles got lots of exercise.  It worked like magic and we had slushy ice-cream! We then made our role play area into an ice-cream shop and the children used lots of talking and number skills as we role-played shops. What a lot of fun we had!
