World Children’s Day
On Monday 20th November, our family of schools will once again partner with the UN and UNICEF to celebrate the anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. As part of these celebrations, we are proud to announce that our Y13 Student Ambassador, Arthur Lienard, has been invited to contribute to the Huffington Post blog of our CEO of Nord Anglia Education, Andrew Fitzmaurice. As part of #KidsTakeOver, Nord Anglia are giving students his platform on the Huffington Post so that they can share their insights on the future of our planet. As I am sure you can imagine, the Huffington Post has a huge worldwide readership, and this is a great opportunity for Arthur and other students involved.
In addition to this we are also participating in a Twitter Chain Reaction, joining with thousands of Nord Anglia students across the world to debate issues relating to the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Approximately 160 of our primary students participated in class debates last week on whether we have damaged our planet so significantly that it is time to look for a new home elsewhere in the galaxy. The students were interested, lively and engaged. A short video clip of their debates was then edited together by our Y6 Prefects and House Captains. This will be shared on Twitter on Monday morning. #WorldChildrensDay #KidsTakeOver

Photography Competition
The annual Global Campus photography competition has now closed and our winning student entries have been sent off for judging! We were particularly impressed with the work of many of our young photographers in Primary School who received tips from our IB students on how to take interesting and thought provoking images.
We are now ‘crossing our fingers’ for our entrants and hoping they will be selected for publication in the 2018 Nord Anglia Education calendar.
Creative Writing Competition
This year the Creative Writing Competition is divided into 3 age categories: 8-11; 11-14; and 18+. For our Under-8’s there will be a separate competition running later in the year.
Students can log onto the Global Campus to obtain more details of the theme and rules.
