Year 9 enjoyed a visit to the Slovak National Gallery this week. Students explored the power of propaganda from the era of the first Slovak Republic 1939-45. The exhibition, ‘Dream and Reality’ asks how ‘the dream’ of state controlled propaganda can drown out ‘the reality’ of everyday experience.
Students also worked through tasks designed to examine the links between individual and group identities, and the ways in which these can be manipulated by the state.
