First they had to make it! The children used their fine motor skills to open all the little boxes of baking soda and poured it in the bowls. Then they used their upper body strength as they used the pump to spray shaving foam out of bottles. They started mixing it together using spoons but soon the children went in with their hands, excited to find out what it feels like. After ‘the snow’ was properly mixed in the bowls, the children poured it in the tuff tray. They used the snow for mark – making, making hills and making shapes using their hands. small spoons and containers that they had collected from around the classroom. The good thing about our snow was that it stayed in the tuff tray overnight and after refreshing it with some more shaving foam, we could have another go at playing with it.
