Juilliard Flash Mob Dance Challenge
Juilliard have choreographed a dance routine for all of our students to learn as part of their Flash mob challenge. Primary children will have the opportunity to practice this with their teachers, and PE staff. Several of our Year 4, 5 and 6 students, in the role of Dance Ambassadors, will be helping them improve. Your child can watch the tutorial video at home too, on the Global Campus website. If you are looking for an activity to keep your child active on a cold, wet Saturday or Sunday remind them they can log on and get dancing.
The Flash Mob challenge will also include secondary students. Y10 Enrichment students, who are taking part in a leadership course, are organizing their event.
Sports Training Challenge – Help Your Kids Be Active
In both the Primary and Secondary areas of the Global Campus website, you can find age-appropriate information on the Sports Challenge. Activities for primary children can be as simple and fun as going to play in their local park or enjoying a hike in the countryside with their parents. It could also include logging activities completed at sports or dancing clubs outside of school, or PE activities such as skating. Your child can earn certificates and e-badges for completing activities and recording them online. Secondary students can find out about Fartlek training, body weight circuits and lots more that will help them get fit and improve their performance. They can also download training and record sheets.
Help you children kick-start a fit and healthy 2018 by participating!
Global Campus Collaborations
As you may know we are proud of our Nord Anglia Education partnerships with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Juilliard and UNICEF. Each of these enriches our students and school, providing unique opportunities for collaborative projects in and between our family of schools. If you wish to learn more about these partnerships and how they enhance the educational experiences of your child, please come to our Global Campus please come to our Global Campus Showcase evening in March.
Global Campus Library
Every year a carefully selected and internationally diverse list of fiction and non-fiction books are added to our Global Campus Primary and Secondary libraries. These books are chosen for their relevant and interesting themes and are written by authors from around the world. In Secondary, all of our Y7-9 students take part in our Global Campus Library Challenge, reading a number of books through the year, completing activities related to them and, ultimately, presenting and voting at the Book Week, ‘Book Of The Year’ assembly. Primary children can select any of the Global Campus Library books to read at home when they change their books during class time. If you would like to know more about the books on offer, please contact Lindsay.Conway@bisb.sk or Simon.Thorpe@bisb.sk or speak with our school librarians.
