Year 8 exploring the structure of the turkey heart 30 January 2018 Students in Year 8 were given a series of five challenges to help them dissect and explore the structure of the turkey heart. This hands on exploration enabled students to identify the main structures present and to visualise the flow of blood through the chambers and vessels connected with the heart. Students measured and compared the thickness of the walls of the left and right ventricles. At the end of the lesson students were able to link their learning from the activity to explain how the structures of the heart are adapted to carry out their functions.Well done Year 8!
