Y8 trip to BA old town

Year 8 German Trip to Bratislava Old Town

On Thursday 15th November, Year 8 German students deepened their topic knowledge, “Orientation in the town,” by doing a tour through the historical streets of Bratislava city center. The day began with a visit to the Goethe Institut.

We started our day by catching the bus to town. Firstly, we had a lesson at the Goethe Institut which is the German cultural institute. While there, the students had the possibility to learn something more about Germany via a presentation. This was followed by games, where students improved their knowledge about famous people, sites, monuments and habits in Germany.

Our path then led us to the old town, where we had a professional guided tour about Bratislava’s historical sites and monuments. The students have learned about the importance of the town in the past and in the current time as well.

We concluded the tour with a brief stop in “Eissalon,” where everybody enjoyed the best ice cream in town!

The information gathered on the trip was used by the students to prepare for their speaking assessment about the topic, “Orientation in the town.”
