The local Zoo was due to open, but the zookeepers refused to open the gates to the public until all the animals passed their Standard Animal Tests. The animals in the zoo were behaving in far from ‘standard’ ways! The ‘Publics’ were tired of waiting for the zoo to open, so they staged a protest. The zookeepers let the ‘Publics’ observe the testing process, it transpired that the ‘Publics’ loved the quirky animals. The zookeepers saw the animals in a new light and stopped trying to standardise them. They even apologised for not appreciating their individuality.
Year 4’s production of The Zany Zoo was amazing; the children were enthusiastic, they sang and danced and entertained like professionals! It was a show filled with fun, laughter, singing and plenty of zany animals! There were animals who danced, did housework, cooked pizza, and who generally did not conform to the standards expected of animals! Well done to the year 4 children and to the year 4 team who put it all together.
