Reception exploring

21 March 2018

In Reception, we have been exploring and describing the textures of different materials such as slime, shaving foam and sand. We have also learnt three more new sounds ‘y’, ‘z’ and ‘zz’ and thought of lots of words that have these sounds in whilst we also practised how to write the letters.

Thank you to all those parents who were able to come along to our Maths ‘Drop In’ sessions on Wednesday. We all enjoyed taking part together in the different Maths activities and Maths has continued to be a focus since then in our learning. We have thought about how to use 2D shapes to make monster pictures, measured the distances our cars travelled down a ramp and also recognised, ordered and recorded numbers when making our own dot to dot pictures for each other.
