Clothing Swap
On Friday 5th of November, we held a Clothing Swap at school. A clothing swap is an opportunity for students and staff to clean out their wardrobes, bring in their old clothes and exchange them for something new.

Years 7 - 11 CAS Clubs
This week we saw the continuation of our CAS clubs. It was amazing to see all of our students working so hard to engage in and learn new skills. We had students outside in the sun playing chess, students trying to make a change in school to improve students’ lives and students learning how to play instruments.

CAS Activities Year 7 -11
CAS Years 7 to 11 kicked off with a start on the 9th of September with students going to their first activity. We had Zumba to biking to history club to drawing and more. Each fortnight we will bring you some information about some of the clubs that we are running.

Great results of French DELF Exams
This week brought very good news for students from Year 7 to Year 11. All of those who passed their French DELF exams last academic year had their results and they all passed with astonishingly good grades. Congratulations to them and all the efforts they put in this!

Falconry Demonstration
Nursery and Reception and Years 1 and 2 enjoyed a falconry demonstration this week. A Barn owl, Eurasian eagle-owl, Raven and Red-tailed hawk were all brought to the children in the Maples playground and Willows garden. The children were shown how these birds of prey hunt, fly and survive in the wild. They also learned some interesting facts about each of the birds, for example, did you know that the Eurasian eagle-owl is the largest owl in Europe?

IB Theory of Knowledge Exhibition
Year 12 students have completed the first part of their Theory of Knowledge assessment. This involved each student exhibiting 3 objects which help form an answer to a knowledge question. These are open questions such as What counts as good evidence for a claim?, How does the way that we organize or classify knowledge affect what we know?, Should some knowledge not be sought on ethical grounds?, Are some things unknowable?

Macbeth: From Page to Stage
Shakespeare never intended his plays to be studied, deconstructed and analyzed, he intended for them to be performed. So, in honour of the Bard, Year 9 have become directors, designers, actors and producers to bring the words of Macbeth off the page and onto the stage. This project demands a high-level of understanding of the relationships and motivations of the characters and gives students the opportunity to be creative and responsible for meeting deadlines.

Global Campus Visual Arts Competition
This year's Global Campus Visual Arts competition gave children an opportunity to learn more about Climate Change. The Year 6 Extended Literacy class took the opportunity to think about which aspect of Climate Change was most important to them and what we should be doing to combat it. The children were then asked to depict this in a medium of their choice to illustrate their thoughts.
