On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February we hosted a student leadership workshop here at BISB. There were 24 students involved from a range of Year Groups. They worked brilliantly together and demonstrated excellent team work and leadership skills throughout the different activities. The workshop leaders travelled from Switzerland especially to work with this group of students and provided very positive feedback of all of our students. You can learn more about what the students did from Ella and Mieke's report:
The Swiss student leadership workshop was a wonderful experience for the both of us. We developed not only our leadership abilities, but personal skills as well. These involved time management, prioritising, optimising, public speaking, and idea pitching. Gaining these skills was a challenge, but it was always combined with games to help us with the learning experience. Our favourite activity consisted of building a Lego plane, whilst trying to use our time effectively and work together as a team. We were handed more and more challenges along the way, which meant we had to prioritise our tasks, we were taught to use the Eisenhower Matrix, which classed our tasks into importance and urgency. We completed many tasks and activities along these lines and found them very beneficial and would happily recommend it to other students in future years.
