This year, 2019 COBIS students from 83 COBIS Schools were given this accolade. These students have been presented with a COBIS Student Achievement Award for the following reasons:
• Outstanding academic achievement
• Sustained, high level contributions to the wider life of the school
• Significant contributions to the school’s/community’s charity activities
• An act of bravery in the school/community
The students who were nominated from BISB have all been recognised for their outstanding individual achievement or contribution to an aspect of school or community life. Below is a description as to why each of our 3 award winners are worthy of this award.
Congratulations to each of them on their achievements throughout this school year.
Amy S. – Y13
Amy is an excellent student and role model for her peers. She is one of our highest achieving IB students. Her dedication and commitment to her studies is phenomenal and she still has time and energy to commit to many out of school activities. We are most proud of her for attending the UNICEF Child trafficking seminar in Bulgaria and presented to the UN delegates from the student perspective. Amy is a very talented young person and is very worthy of being nominated for this award.
Yoonjung K. - Y12
Yoonjung is a positive and motivated young person, who is not only doing very well in the first year of her IB Diploma, but she contributes to wider school and local community on a weekly basis. Yoonjung represented our school in last year's UN Global Goals Summit in New York, where she has returned to school with a new found passion and drive for promoting the Global goals within our local school community. In addition to this, she has been a key member of the organising committee of our school's MUN event, one of our Head students and is also in the process of completing her Gold IA. She is a very kind and caring young person and is very worthy of being nominated for this award.
Ella H. - Y9
Ella is a confident and motivated young person, who is proactive in her approach to learning. Not only is Ella one of the top students within her year group, she has an excellent awareness for those around her. She is a natural leader and has successfully taken on many leadership challenges this school year. In her role as Sports leader, she is working towards bringing in a new PE kit and sports uniform for the entire school. Ella is a level headed and kind student, who we are very proud to have in our student body.
