Student Council Finale

The Primary Student Council held their final meeting on Wednesday 17th of June. Four of our members met us virtually. Each Student Council representative received a certificate to thank them for their service this year on the Student Council. They also got an ice cream to celebrate!

I just want to thank the Student Council representatives again for their hard work this year in helping their classmates to ‘have a voice’ in the school.

What did they like about being on the Student Council? Everyone liked holding class meetings to let their classmates voice concerns and then meeting weekly with the Student Council to discuss these concerns and come up with solutions.  Although some of our ideas we did not get to implement because of the lockdown, I look forward to working on these projects with the next Student Council.  We did get a chance this year to work with the Global Campus and Eco Committee to set up Eco-monitors in each classroom. We also surveyed our classes for their favourite lunches and relayed that to Little Chef so we could have our favourites regularly, and we had an excellent Hot Chocolate Café where we raised funds to help implement new projects.  This year we also added a section of our weekly meeting to think about things that are going well at school, or things we have to be grateful for at school. We enjoyed this time to help promote positivity around the school.

What else did the Student Council enjoy about serving this year?  Everyone agreed they liked the free ice-cream and hot chocolate!  Eunji B. from 3C said she enjoyed helping the school.  Nina Ch. in 4C enjoyed being the ‘Boss of the Class’ and Seoyul L. from 5A enjoyed working in the Hot Chocolate Café.  Aylin E. said she enjoyed helping people to make the school a better place. Thank you, Student Council for a great year! Keep finding ways to  leaders, help and do the right thing.

Thank you to our 2019-2020 Student Council:
