History in Year 7

It has been so nice to have our Year 7 students back in school again. Being back together in class means we can do lots of activities together.

7MS went out onto the playground on Monday afternoon to do activities that would get them speaking English, reconnecting with friends, and working together. After playing '2 word story' as a whole class to build a narrative on the 14th century Black Death in Europe, they then created group dramas on the symptoms of the disease, before finally creating a rap or poem and performing in the playground.

On Tuesday afternoon, 7YC worked in groups using images connected to the Black Death to create posters. The 'mindful' colouring images were specifically chosen to help the students feel calme and focused, and engage with each other, whilst reconnecting with friends and using topic language in their conversations.
