International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)
In Years 10 and 11 (Key Stage 4), students study for IGCSE certificates. We use the Cambridge IGCSE courses due to their rigour, depth and breadth of study, which we feel best prepare students for the IB. These IGCSEs are recognised throughout the world and therefore aid those students who join us late or need to transfer to other international schools.
The IGCSEs are 2-year courses, after which students sit examinations in May/June. Many subjects have a coursework component in addition to the external examinations. The IGCSE results are released in August, and based on these results, students are accepted onto our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, or IBDP.
