I have worked in education since leaving university and have taught in UK State and Independent schools. I have moved to BISB from Kuala Lumpur where I was Head of Secondary in a large International School in the city.
As an educational leader in school I strive to ensure that students have outstanding learning opportunities during lessons, a plethora of enrichment activities outside the classroom and above all else the opportunity to be part of a caring, nurturing school community.

Deputy Head of Secondary, PE & Global Perspective Teacher
Gareth has been based in Colchester, England and teaching for the last nine years at Colchester Academy. He was a Physical Education and Performing Arts Team Leader. He was also responsible for Primary Liaison at the school and joins the BISB after completing a two year National College leadership course, Teaching Leaders.
Gareth trained in Liverpool and graduated with BA (Hons) Sports Development and Physical Education. His PGCE was completed back home in Colchester, Essex through the University of Greenwich. Joining BISB is September 2013, already its clear BISB shares my enthusiasm for striving for students to fulfil their potential academically and in physical activity.
I recently moved to Bratislava with Alicia Earey also a teacher at BISB and we spend our weekends walking and exploring Slovakia with our dog Poppy. I also enjoy going to the gym and running, which apparently I do ‘excessively’ but it allows me to sample as many of the local restaurants as I can. So my moto is Exercise to Eat. We are already enjoying our time at BISB and Bratislava, therefore we hope to settle here for some time.
