Learning Support

I studied Psychology and Elementary Education at Western Washington University. After a few months of supply teaching,  I joined the United States Peace Corps and spent two years in the Republic of Moldova teaching English in a small village, training local teachers and organizing school and community events.  I was eager to explore Europe and teach in an international school so I moved to Bratislava in August of 2000 and began working at QSI as the 5-year-old class teacher.  In 2005 I decided to move over to BISB and taught  Reception. After a brief maternity leave, I taught year 2 for four years (with another maternity leave in between) and last year began teaching in Year 1.

I was born in the United States, in the State of Texas, but moved to Seattle at the age of seven.  I very much enjoyed when my parents dragged us around to explore the countryside, mountains and cities of a new area and I think that this was the beginning of my love of travel.  I have 2 children of my own who also attend BISB.  We enjoy travelling far to see new things, or exploring the local areas in and around Bratislava, or even exploring in our own backyard.  In my free time I like to run, read and spend time with family and friends.  My little known fact is I recently completed an 8-day 1250 km relay run from Bratislava to Brussels.
