STUDENT LEADERS
BISB would like to introduce the new Student Leadership Team for 2020. Leadership positions will become effective in January and will remain in place until the December of 2020.
BISB value Student Leadership and we would like to see our students taking a far more active role in student and school related matters. The students have gone through a thorough selection process from application to interview. Our student leadership team will be role models to the school community and display all the elements of a good leader with action planning, clear communication, teamwork, and strategic thinking.
Our head girl student is Ejun H., Year 12
"I am Ejun H. and I am a creator, artist, and an optimistic leader who aspires to become an animation movie director to spread happiness and hope to people around the world. As your head student, I want to make BISB a school where students can express their intellectual vitality, and where the faculty and students can both easily meet each other's needs.
I will be your listener, mediator, and, most of all, the one who helps you achieve your dreams. Thank you!"
Our head boy student is Martin N., Year 12
"This is my fourth year studying at BISB, which I now think of as a second home. I have two years of hard work left here, after which I would like to study theoretical physics. I love sports: volleyball, basketball, karate, cycling… but the inner geek in me loves Rubik’s cubes, juggling, math.
I would like to use my time as a Head Boy to develop BISB’s school spirit, and to strengthen its students' sense of community and belonging, making BISB an even more enjoyable place to learn."
School also selected 6 deputies who will be overseeing different aspects of school as follows:
Y12 Deputy Student Leader: Hyeokjun K. - Global Goals
Y12 Deputy Student Leader: Barbara K. - Sport
Y12 Deputy Student Leader: Hyunsoo K. - Steam
Y12 Deputy Student Leader: Jiahui Ch. - Eco
Y12 Deputy Student Leader: Grace W. - Wellbeing
Y12 Deputy Student Leader: Thomas K. - Performing Arts
STUDENT COUNCIL
We are a wide range of individuals with very different ideas about our school and very different passions. We work hard as a group to coordinate our different thoughts and ensure that every voice is heard. We look to find out and resolve the issues that are of concern to our peers.
We all volunteered to be on the student council and each class had an election to vote for who they wanted to represent their class. We meet twice a month to discuss issues and try to come up with solutions to make our school the best it can be. So far this year we have trained our peers to be playground helpers called 'ABCs'. These children have a duty on the playground and help to solve conflicts and encourage friendships. We have also begun working on a list of playground equipment we would like to purchase. We already have many issues brought up by our classmates and we will be working on solutions in the near future. Together we know we can make BISB the best it can be.
