EAL Teaching Assistant – (Focus in Kindergarten

▪ Location: Phnom Penh 

▪ Schedule: (Full-Time) 

▪ Salary: Negotiable 

▪ Expect Employment Start Date: 08 January 2019 

 

Responsibilities: 

▪ Support the kindergarten students with their learning activities in the classroom 

▪ Support the kindergarten students in improving their English Language 

▪ Work closely with teachers to make sure pupils enjoy learning in a safe and caring setting 

▪ Help children who need extra support to complete tasks 

▪ Work alongside classroom teacher to plan learning activities for students at different levels 

▪ Supervise group activities when required 

▪ Clear away materials and equipment after lessons 

▪ Take part in training 

▪ Carry out some administrative tasks as required 

▪ Other appropriate duties as allocated by members of the senior leadership team 

 

Requirements: 

▪ Bachelor of English (Education), TESOL, or equivalent qualification 

▪ Be able to professionally communicate in English both written and spoken 

▪ Experience working with children required (e.g.: teacher assistant, English teacher) 

▪ Knowledge of basic subjects taught in schools, including math, language, and reading 

▪ Knowledge of safe practices in classroom and playground activities and willingness to learn 

▪ Demonstrate a patient and receptive attitude toward children 

▪ Demonstrate an ability to work with classroom teacher(s) and colleagues in a respectful, collaborative manner 

▪ Ability to enforce classroom behaviour expectations 

▪ Knowledge of child development and guidance, general needs and behavior of children, methods, and techniques of assisting in instruction 

▪ Knowledge of basic IT skills: Word, Google (Gmail, google docs) 

▪ Time management and ability to prioritize tasks
