Portrait of Carole Zaenthkowski

My name is Carole Zaenthkowski. I am French, and I have been working for Collège Champittet Nyon since 2004, when our school opened. I have two kids, 11 and 16 years old. After a degree in economics, I wanted to go into teaching, I just was not sure whether to become a professor of economics or a primary teacher. So, I did a degree in Economics and I took a break during my studies to find "my way". I worked as an assistant in a primary school in France to find out if teaching children from 3 to 12 was the direction I wanted to go. I met great teachers who showed me how to teach, taught me their job and passed on their passion. Thus, I started without any further hesitation my studies to become a primary teacher.

Since 2004, I have taught different levels: 1P, 2P, 5P and 6P. I like all age levels, but I particularly like the classes 1P or 2P because they are much more spontaneous, they still have everything to learn and marvel at everything at this age. I like it when their eyes shine when they get to do something for the first time, when they discover the alphas (our method of reading), when they start to read their first words or write their first letters in cursive... - This is for me is a real pleasure. I consider this school a bit like a second family. In fact, I have now known some colleagues for 15 years: we have lived through and experienced many things together, such as the birth of children or weddings. This is why I come to work with pleasure and willingness every day.
