Connecting with their peers across the globe via the Global Campus, the motivation behind the project is to give pupils a real life context for the French and English they are learning in class. However, the project is far more than just an exercise in language use, there are a host of cross curricular opportunities including; art, geography and ICT all running alongside the overarching theme of what it means to be a ‘global citizen’.

So far the project has given the children a real sense of purpose and as a result they have embraced their work.  Year 5 are currently writing an introductory letter and are very excited about sending and receiving their first piece of mail. Projects planned for later in the year include winter parcels, a ‘mystery Skype’ and further collaboration on the Global Campus. Watch this space for updates!
