IB, scientific project

As part of the IB course, students are required to carry out a 10-hour scientific project in which a team comprising students studying Physics, Chemistry and Biology work together on a common theme. In their Group 4 Project, students, in small teams, carry out a small scientific project, which they have planned themselves. At Champittet we take advantage of being close to Olympic headquarters to carry out projects linked with the Olympic games followed by laboratory experiments concluding with a presentation to all the Year 14 IB students.

This year the projects were based around Curling, Volleyball and Swimming. The students investigated the property of salt and ice, pressure of Volley balls, material used for swimming suits and composition and properties of swimming pool water.

The students should be congratulated on their energy, enthusiasm and initiative!
