The Collège Champittet Foundation Bal

On Saturday, November 17th, the sixth edition of the Foundation Bal was held in the majestic Sandoz Room at the Beau Rivage Palace. A record number of guests came to participate in this exceptional event!

In order to raise funds for its humanitarian work, the Foundation organised a raffle with exceptional prizes to raise donations. This year, the bal, led by Mr. François Egger, supported the scholarship program of the Jan and Oscar Foundation, a Foundation very close to our hearts at Collège Champittet.

On the 26th of December 2004, a tsunami struck Asia, killing thousands. Among them, Jan, 12 years old, schooled at Collège Champittet at the time, and Oscar, his little brother, 8 years old. Immediately after the tragedy, a humanitarian project was launched in a spirit of solidarity. The Jan & Oscar Foundation was formally established on June 29th 2005, with the aim of enabling and encouraging the schooling of disadvantaged children in Thailand.

A record sum was raised during the silent auction for this good cause. It was also a great opportunity to bring together the entire school and foundation community, and to put on our best outfits for an evening where emotions ran high.
