On February 21st, a team of 9 students and 3 chaperones from Collège Champittet left for a 10-day trip to Japan. This trip was organized by Mr. Kono, our Japanese Music Professor at the Collège Champittet.
After an overnight stop in Saporo, they finish their journey by bus to Niseko.
In this region of Japan, the group skied at an altitude of between 800 and 1200 meters between the birch trees. It is an exceptional experience because the conditions are totally different from those in Europe. Every day they had the chance to ski in 50 cm of fresh light powder snow on perfect slopes.
They spend 4 days skiing there, they tested the Japanese onsen baths and then it was time to leave for Tokyo. They spend 2 days there and visited the Skytree tower (634 meters), and the Asukita sanctuary and also the Buddhist temple Gokoku-ji. It was an opportunity to discover a different culture and wonderful food.
On March 25th, a parent evening with a talk and film presentation was organized for those who went.
