Rome was bathed in light for the group of students from the College who participated in the 3-day spiritual retreat organized by the Chaplaincy.
Light from the beautiful April sun during these days, but also light from the moments of sharing, friendship, prayer, and discovery of the cultural and spiritual beauty of Rome: St. Peter's Basilica and the other three major basilicas, the ancient city with the Colosseum and the Forum, the Vatican museums, the ascent to the Castello San Angelo which offers its magnificent view over the city.
Another highlight of the stay was the exceptional visit of the Swiss Guard and sharing the Eucharist in their chapel in the heart of the Vatican with the tribune, decorated with 140 ears of wheat, that recalls the sacrifice they made with their lives on the 6th of May 1527 in order to protect the sovereign Pontiff.
Everyone will hold the beautiful Rome sunshine in their memories and will not forget the warm welcome we received from “La Trinité-des-Monts” that greatly contributed to the success of this trip.
"The retreat in Rome was a journey I will never forget. The highlight was the Vatican, it is the smallest country in the world and perhaps the most beautiful. The Sistine Chapel is the most beautiful of all the rooms steeped in Catholic history. (...) We visited the Four Great Basilicas of Rome that was so beautiful and we learned a lot about our religion. It was really an incredible experience." (Eduardo & Max, 10 FLE)”
