Ascot Hotel 10am October 17, 2017 Kuanzhai Room
We are pleased to announced our first Parent Academy presentation. In partnership with the LFA, our school counsellors, Ms Kusmierski(social/emotional counsellor) and Mrs Mindorff (university counsellor), will host a series of parent sessions designed to help and inform parents.
Our first session is on the topic of technology in the home: helping parents manage media and technology. We will focus on information that Common Sense Media.org shares with parents about the impacts of the range of technology that permeates our homes. We encourage parents to bring their devices as well to share strategies and tools you use to "manage your family's media message.
IB Diploma Programme and University Application Process
In November, Mrs Mindorff, our IB Coordinator and University Counsellor, will present a second installment of the overview of the IB Diploma Programme and will review expectations for the university application process. This presentation is aimed at parents in grades 10-11 but all parents are welcome if they want to understand the IB Diploma better and to hear about our university application process.
Grade 10 parents, in particular are encouraged to attend as this is useful information before we begin the DP course selection process in December for gr 10 students.
Please see the IBO.org website for information about the IB Middle Years Programme for grades 6-10 that we are in the process of implementing and for information about the IB Diploma Programme that we have in grades 11-12.
