Emily Mather

Whole School Head of SIOP

Emily Mather holds a Bachelor of Political Science from the College of Santa Fe (US), a Bachelor of Spanish Language and Literature from Portland State University (US), and a Master of Teaching (summa cum laude) from Southern Oregon University (US). In addition, she has completed a 48-credit graduate licensure program in school leadership and administration.

Emily has 11 years of experience in education, including serving as an EAL Teacher, an EAL Instructional Coach, an EAL Program Coordinator, and a Vice-Principal. Ms Mather was born and raised in Canada, and has lived and worked in a variety of locations including New York City, New Mexico, and Oregon, USA, as well as Chiang Rai, Thailand.

Emily is thrilled to join the Regents team for the 2019/20 school year as the Head of EAL where she will support an inclusionary model of success for the school’s linguistically diverse students.  Outside of school, Emily enjoys learning new languages, travelling, hiking, and spending time with her husband and son.
