James joined Regents in 2010, having been a Music and Science Coordinator in his last three schools. He has also been History, PE, and Numeracy Coordinator. James was drawn to work at Regents because of its academic excellence and its strong philosophy of teaching ‘the whole child’; its strong emphasis on an holistic education. The opportunities this school gives its pupils are second to none.
James has a very broad spectrum of interests. Helping children make links between different subjects as well as making connections between different areas within a subject is an aspect of the job that fascinates him. He is a very firm believer in teachers having a high expectation of their pupils, in all subject areas, and would like to think that when he was a full-time classroom teacher he was able to motivate his pupils in fun and imaginative ways whilst pushing them rigorously to reach their potential.
James' other passion in life is music. He has played the piano since the age of four and was a professional musician for eight years, back in the nineties. He even played with Jon Bon Jovi once. He loves all kinds of music, his favorite composer being Beethoven; probably the greatest musical artist who ever lived. When not playing the piano, in his spare time he loves to go fishing and to play badminton and tennis.
