Parent Association (APEC)

Collège Champittet warmly invites parents to participate in the Association of Parents of Pupils of Champittet (APEC). This active group connects Champittet parents, teachers and school management with the shared goal of building the best learning environment for our students. Linking families and our school, the Parent Association extends our vision to cultivate the finest academic experience and foster a vibrant, engaging community for all.

The APEC Committee Structure

The APEC committee is comprised of volunteer parents elected by the General Assembly. The committee includes a president, secretary, treasurer, primary and secondary delegates, and several other active members.

The committee meets monthly to organise school events, discuss the latest school changes and vote on new actions. Committee members play an active role in liaising with teachers, promoting school events and welcoming new families to our community.

The Parents Association Commitment to Community

APEC is dedicated to furthering the mission and spirit of Collège Champittet by facilitating communication and support. The committee communicates directly with every area of the school community, including:

  • Management: APEC meets quarterly with Collège Champittet management to discuss school projects and set objectives.
  • Faculty: The committee meets regularly with Collège Champittet teachers to exchange ideas and discuss any concerns.
  • Parents: APEC collects feedback and suggestions from Champittet parents to deliver to the management of the school. The association also produces a newsletter, APEC-NEWS, to keep parents informed of the latest updates.
  • Students: APEC aims to support every aspect of student life. This includes advocating for school values and promoting student events, from fine arts performances to sports games.

APEC Events and Accomplishments

Our Parent Association holds fundraising and social events throughout the year. These engaging activities strengthen our community. While the schedule varies from year to year, Parent Association members can expect to enjoy traditional events such as:

  • Guided city tours of Lausanne: APEC organises tours as a local introduction for newcomers and a social activity for long-time residents.
  • Welcome events: At the beginning of the school year, APEC welcomes new Champittet families through an integration programme and social event.
  • Annual Christmas baskets: APEC organises a yearly thank you to Champittet staff in the form of a holiday gift basket.
  • General meetings and assemblies: Parents meet to discuss school changes and budgets while welcoming new members alongside a wine and cheese menu.
