How old is the school?

Our school opened in 2010.

Where do your students move onto after they complete their education at BST? 
Our students will have the option to enter state and private universities within  Uzbekistan as well as with international universities using UK qualifications.

Teaching and Curriculum

What qualifications do your teachers have?

We have teachers from UK, Australia, South Africa, Uzbekistan, Korea,  France, Spain and Russia. All of our teachers are fully qualified with teaching degrees and post graduate certificates.

What curriculum do you teach? 

We teach IGCSE and will teach A Levels. In addition, we teach Uzbek National Curriculum for citizens of Republic of Uzbekistan.

What are your class sizes? 

In Primary, class sizes are between 20-24 pupils and in Secondary, 24-26.

What foreign languages do you teach? 

We teach Russian, French, Spanish and Uzbek

Do you have teaching assistants? 

Yes, mainly in EAL, EYFS and Primary School.

How do you deal with children with limited English? 

We have an EAL Department of eight staff  who work with students to develop their English.

Do you have provisions for children with Special Education Needs? 

Unfortunately not yet.

Activities and Trips

Do you have after school activities? 
Yes, we have a range of after school activities that are provided free of charge. 

What sort of excursions and trips do you offer your students? 
We offer in-city trips and residential trips within Uzbekistan to Bukhara, Khiva and Samarkand. We also organise overseas trips. This academic year, students we will be enjoying overseas trips to Berlin, Warsaw, Switzerland, and Bratislava.

What is your sport programme like?
We have five members of PE staff who run a programme where our school teams complete against schools within Tashkent and Central Asia in Football, Basketball and Athletics.

What is your music programme like?
We offer a number of ensembles, choirs and instrumental peripatetic lessons as well as curriculum Music lessons.


School Life

Is a school lunch provided? 
Yes, we offer morning and afternoon snack and full course lunch.

How do you ensure my child settled in quickly to their new school? 
All children are allocated a buddy on arrival and are closely monitored within the first few weeks.

How do you ensure good behaviour and manners? 
Our ethos highlights respect and good manners to all, which allows for excellent behaviour. We have a transparent behaviour code that all students follow, and our rewards programme promotes and celebrates good behaviour.

Where do your families live and do you provide school buses? 
Our parents live within Tashkent. We do not provide a school bus service.

Parental Involvement

How do you communicate with parents? 
We communicate through email, our Parent Portal and paper-copy letters.

What involvement do your parents have at BST? 
We hold various community events such as British Day and International Day, where parents come together and work closely with the school.
