Congratulations to the GCSE class of 2020! After a difficult year, we are delighted to share in the success of Year 11 students in their IGCSE results.

After a difficult year, we are delighted to share in the success of Year 11 students in their IGCSE results.

English GCSE A*- C grades – 79%

Maths GCSE A*- C grades – 81%

26% of all grades awarded  at A*/A grades with impressive performances across many subjects:  Biology at 42%, Chemistry at 42%, Physics at 45%, Russian First language 41% , Russian Second Language 66% and Geography at 53% A*/A all deserve a special mention.

The Russian Department were thrilled, and their Head of Department, Ms Khamida said: "When we received the results, we were so happy to see that everything that our students and teachers had been working on brought us such a success! I think, that was the best start of a new academic year at our lovely school!"

Mr Weston, Head of English shared our pride in the students achievements and the commitment to learning at BST when he said: ‘No matter what is thrown at us, we will continue to lift our heads and work to achieve out potential’.

Mr. Krige as Head of Maths last year, led on a maths strategy that smashed the department target of 64% A* - C, achieving an outstanding 81%! Well done to our students and maths teachers on a superb effort and especially because 29% were awarded at the top grades of A*/A!

All our students deserve a huge ‘well done’! But a special mention must go to the achievements of Ivan Yahorynkau, Joon Yoo, Mihai Muntenu, Izora Kayumova and Gulbakhor Berdieva for outstanding personal achievements at A*/A grades across their subjects.

Every school believes that their students are gifted and talented and here at BST we know that is absolutely the case, with so many students to be proud of, here are just two to mention:
Ivan Yahorynkau had an impressive haul of 6 A*/A grades in his GCSEs but he’s not only academically gifted. Ivan is a talented pianist and composer and he is generous with his creative talents too, playing a key role in designing and managing the sound and lighting in our school production in 2019, as he will undoubtedly do so again for our ‘We Will Rock You’ show this year too!
Izora Kayumova should be incredibly proud of her exam results which included 7A*/A grades in her GCSEs but she is accomplished in lots of other ways too. Recognised as an outstanding citizen of our school, she is also an experienced Model United Nations (MUN) delegate, recently taking the role of Assistant Director at the Dubai Virtual MUN; and as a talented actress, she landed the leading role in our ‘We Will Rock You’ production this year too!
