Welcome to BST 2020. We have launched the new term with the exciting arrival of Dr Andre Nel.

Welcome to BST 2020. We have launched the new term with the exciting arrival of Dr Andre Nel. Dr Nel has over 20 years' experience in school leadership and is a qualified school inspector, leading schools to become internationally excellent and members of BSME, CIS and COBIS. Dr Nel brings with him a global team of 23 highly qualified and experienced subject experts to support the existing team and ensure world class education for every child.

BST is a part of Nord Anglia Education, a group with almost 50 years of international education expertise. As such we have robust anti-bullying, child protection and safe selection and recruitment policies, processes and practises. Our Child Protection Officer ensures safeguarding is a priority throughout the school and all staff undertake mandatory training annually. In addition, all pupils are made aware of correct conduct and have an opportunity to confidentially discuss concerns with their PSHE (Physical Social Health Education) tutor.

At BST our motto is “Be Ambitious”. We have high aspirations for our community of pupils and staff. As such we have introduced rigorous entrance assessments to ensure only those determined to learn and succeed are admitted. Dedicated, hardworking pupils and staff lead to a positive culture of exploration, creativity and development, which in turn ensures impressive results.

As well as lots of fantastic new textbooks we are delighted to announce the opening of the new Babur Library. Our new library will be stocked with a wide range of fiction and non fiction books to stimulate learning, ideas and reflection. Our digital applications and software will also enable research, collaboration and audio visual production and sharing.

It is now more important than ever before that we provide a clean and safe environment for our pupils, parents and staff. Therefore, we have followed the guidance from the Ministry of Education, UNICEF and Nord Anglia Education to implement:

  • Mandatory health declaration forms
  • Temperature checks
  • Sanitising and hand washing stations
  • Masks and gloves
  • Social distancing in movement around campus
  • Precautions for snacks and lunch
  • Daily campus cleaning
  • Training and monitoring of standards
  • Clear signage and communication of protocols.

Health and Safety Lead: Mr Arseniy Ulanov

Good food is vital to a balanced and healthy life and contributes to wellbeing. We work very closely with our partner Concept Catering to ensure the school lunches are of the highest quality and offer variety. The menus are carefully planned to ensure that our pupils receive healthy and nutritional meals and we can cater for students with dietary requirements.

Shagufta Bibi will be leading the Marketing, Communications and Admissions team. The team will send out Parent Newsletters every month and work to establish a PTA. There will also be a dedicated email address for all parent queries and concerns – bst-dialogue@britishschool.uz
