Mr. Andrew Baldwin


Head of PE

BEd Physical Education, MEd (Cantab) Education Research

Andrew has been working in education since 2004. Much of his career has been spent in the UK where he led a successful large secondary school PE department and supported the International Baccalaureate CP. Andrew is also a Specialist Curriculum Consultant for Cambridge Assessment International Education. Outside of the regular classroom, Andrew used his skills as an MLTUK qualified Mountain Leader to grow the DofE award at all three levels. As an RFU Level 2 coach, he fulfilled the voluntary role of Director of Youth Rugby at his local rugby club focusing on school links and coach development.

Since moving to China in 2016, Andrew has led PE departments, Athletic programmes and facilitated Head of Year roles in several schools and curricula. He is an examiner for IB SEHS and is qualified to coordinate the Extended Essay programme. Andrew has received extensive training for PYP, MYP and DP PHE and Sport Science, alongside this he is also fully trained and experienced in inclusion and diversity in the classroom and social and emotional learning.

Andrew is passionate about student-centred teaching and learning and the role Physical Education can play in whole school progress.
